Long Beach Community Helps Raise Funds for Jordan Musicians

Jordan High School students perform during concert

Approximately 80 members of Jordan High School’s choir, band and orchestra are one step closer to performing at Carnegie Hall next year.

Several local community members recently attended a benefit concert hosted by Long Beach Mayor Rex Richardson and the Mayor’s Fund, a nonprofit in collaboration with the Office of the Mayor, to help raise funds for the students to travel to New York City in early 2024.

The LBC to Carnegie Benefit Concert held on Dec. 14 at the Beverly O'Neill Theatre in Downtown Long Beach featured performances by Jordan High School’s choir, band and orchestra, with all proceeds set to help offset the cost of hotel accommodations, educational workshops and other travel expenses.

Earlier this year, Jordan’s choir, band and orchestra were invited to perform at Carnegie Hall by National Concerts, an organization that provides unique performance experiences for choirs, bands and orchestras in renowned venues across the United States.
